My Brand-Building is All Over the Place
And guess what? That’s okay.
Dear Old Friends & New Friends,
Are you weary of all the advice you receive on how to “build your brand,” especially as an author, entrepreneur, or other creative artist?
I sure am. Far too much of that advice is about living a discouragingly transactional life — where almost every act is planned and calculated based on a quid-pro-quo exchange.
Yuck.
So most of the time, I ignore all that. I ignore the “wisdom” from all the marketing “experts” out there, with their flawless websites and ultra-high-end photography and sophisticated graphics. And that’s not counting their equally flawless presence on all the social platforms with posts timed to hit peak viewing periods.
Good for them. Not my style.
The funny bit is that, while I’m not into crafts or cooking or making things from scratch, when it comes to brand-building, I’m a DIY kind of gal.
I make shit up as I go along. Dabble in Canva. Record amateurish videos. Blog oh-so-inconsistently. Post when I feel like it.
